IN-KIND DONATIONS
PIER always needs school supplies & backpacks, arts & crafts materials, games and puzzles, books and teacher supplies. This year we specifically need:
- Computers, monitors, and printers (for the 3 pilot bilingual schools)
- Spanish-language children's books (all ages)
- Spanish-language math and science textbooks (primary level)
- Microscopes
- Electronics Kits
Please note: Before you decide to ship small packages or boxes to PIER, consider the following. You will need to ship your box to our freight forwarder in Miami. Shipping costs from Miami to Roatan are $68 for 1 small package to 1 full pallet. In the end, a $40 donation of school supplies at your end, costs us $140 after shipping. I know it's more fun to buy, pack, and ship your gifts- but the reality is your money will go much further if you send PIER a check and ask let us buy your donations on island.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT
PIER depends on its generous supporters to continue providing educational programs and support to our community. Projected 2012 program expenses are $50,000. Salaries for our English and math teachers, and for our bilingual specialist are paid by three private foundations. Land and buildings are donated by the property's owners. This year we still need funds for:
- Librarian's salary
- Instructional Support (printing, training, books, arts & crafts, materials for instructional activities)
- Operating Costs (utilities, grounds & maintenance)
- Transportation (Bookmobile services to schools & communities)
- Teacher Training (transportation, printing, books, instructional materials)
Donors who wish to receive USA 501c3 tax benefits may send a check to: Partners In Education Roatan. % Brain Spaces, Inc.; 191 Ferguson Beach Road; Oswego, NY 13126 or you may donate directly through our Brain Spaces - Expanding the World account. No donation is too small -- or too large!
PIER prides itself on its total transparency. Anyone may review our financial statements at any time. CLICK HERE to read our most recent financial reports. Address any questions or comments to Ted O'Brien @ tedobrienroatan@gmail.com.
